ALL INDIA PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK STAFF FEDERATION

All India Punjab National Bank Staff Federation, an affiliate of NCBE (a non-political and independent organisation of bank employees) formed in 1972 with the sole objective to organize and unite the persons employed by Punjab National Bank in India, to regulate their relations with their employer, to secure fair conditions of service for them and to ameliorate their social, economic and civic conditions

Company History

1967-1971

Political Instability: The Government of India relied heavily on a particular political party, which controlled the majority Union in Banks. Union Misuse: The majority union misused its power, becoming the sole bargaining agent during the 2nd Bi-Partite negotiations in 1969-70.

1972

Formation of All India PNB Staff Federation: Emerged as an alternative national organization due to revolts against the dictatorial attitude of the majority union leaders.

1976-1977

Development of Affiliates: The Federation established affiliates in Bengal, Bihar, U.P., Haryana, Punjab, H.P., Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu. 2nd National Conference: Held in Delhi in 1976.

1983

Re-development of Affiliates: Despite losing some affiliates in Punjab, Haryana, H.P., J&K, and Tamil Nadu due to political changes and the emergence of other organizations, the Federation developed new affiliates in Rajasthan, M.P., Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Additionally, affiliates were formed in the new states of Uttranchal and Jharkhand, and the Tamil Nadu affiliate was re-established.
